I would have liked to see the Knicks take a chance on Shaun Livingston. He is coming off of a devastating knee injury, but he is still only 22 years old. Because of his injury setbacks, the
Knicks could have gotten him for relatively cheap, and now that the team is in the rebuilding process, they have the time to wait and see if he develops. The former lottery pick Livingston looked promising in his first three seasons, especially his third when he averaged 9.3 points and 5.1 assists. Like Duhon, Livingston is a pass-first point guard, but as opposed to the 6'1 Duhon, Livingston is one of the bigger point guards in the league at 6'7, which can be an advantge over the smaller guards. It could also give the Knicks the flexibility to play an undersized shooting guard and have Livingston guard the other team's two-guard.Duhon has two years to prove me wrong and become a starter in the NBA. If he fails, he will likely not be a part of the Knicks future plans in the summer of 2010 when LeBron and the other prized free agents become available.
